Manifold
valves
Theory
Manifold is a device used to control the
pressure operated instruments. There are 3 types of manifold valves used in
industry, 2 way manifold valve used in
conjunction with pressure indicating instruments &transmitter, 3 way and 5
way manifolds are commonly used in industry for differential instruments. The
3way and 5 way manifold valves are used in conjunction with pressure level and
flow measurements of steam, chemicals &toxic gases.
Procedure:
Instructions for line up the
transmitter using 5 way manifold in process line are as given below:-
1.
Open the equalizing valve.
2.
Close the high side and low side isolation valves.
3.
Close the drain valve.
4.
Open the high and low side process isolation valve.
5.
Close the equalizing valve, then the transmitter
starts reading.
For zero checking of DP instrument do th following:-
1. Open the
equalizing valve.
2. Close the high side and low side isolation
valve.
3. Open
the transmitter vent, then we will get the zero reading.
